Chivalry can get you in trouble
From The Fayetteville Observer, Dec. 1, 2005, Cheers and Jeers sectionJeers to the owner of a convenience store in Ellerbe (N.C.) for the way she berated an employee in public. It was noon on a Friday. The cashier was on the shift by herself, at least three deep in customers, when the owner charged into the store and chewed her out for not turning off the outside lights. The owner was so vicious that the cashier was in tears.
I told the owner to chill out and that the cashier was a good worker. The owner ignored me and carried on with her tirade. When the owner went outside, I told her I thought she had been to hard on the cashier and that I didn't like to see that kind of abuse. She then barred me from the store.
I bought at last $300 worth of gas during the year from that store. I'm buying my gas from her competitor across the street now.

Woah, surely you are kidding me. It's a shame some people can't treat others with at least minimal respect. It is unprofessional and barbaric to come down on an employee that way in front of others. Email me privately which store this is and I'll be sure not to feed that beast.
hey bill!
make sure you blow the horn and wave at them when you're pumping across the street!
